1st-3rd Grade Basketball Rules
We will follow NFHS Rules Guidelines with the following exceptions:
- Each player will get to shoot 1 free throw before the start of the game and this will count towards the total score of the game. If teams are not even, the team with less players will have as many players less shoot an additional free throw.
- 20 minute running halves, clock stops last 2 minutes
- 3 time-outs per game
- 2 min OT with clock stopped last min…2nd OT is sudden death
- Clock does not stop with 15 point spread
1st/2nd GRADE: NO STEALING THE BALL (ONLY OFF THE PASS)
NO PRESSING UNTIL LAST 3 MINUTES OF EACH HALF
NO PRESSING IF UP BY 15+
Teams MUST play Man-To-Man Defense
(Zone Defense is not allowed)
All Game Sites will have colored wrist bands for match up purposes.
Coaches may officiate their own games, and are allowed to coach their athletes while officiating.
