KINDERGARTEN 3V3 Basketball Rules
We will follow NFHS Rules Guidelines with the following exceptions:
NO SCORE WILL BE KEPT FOR KINDERGARTEN BASKETBALL!
Each player will get to shoot 1 free throw before the start of the game. If teams are not even, the team with less players will have as many players less, shoot an additional free throw. The team will less points will start with the ball.
- Half-court
- 3 on 3
- 8' hoops
- 2 Games will happen on a single full court at the same time. NO SCORE IS KEPT.
- 27.5'' Basketball
- CLOCK: 16 Minute Running Halves, ONLY STOPS ON TIMEOUTS AND INJURIES
- 5 minute half-time
- Two 30 second timeouts per game
MAN-TO-MAN DEFENSE ONLY: No double teams except in the key
NO STEALING OR RIPPING THE BALL: The ball may be stolen on the pass or shot block.
Fouls and Violations: Are called only as required to keep the game under control. It does NOT change possession.
When DEFENSE rebounds the ball, they MUST "Take It Back" by freely bring the ball past the 3-point line before returning to the basket to score.
Out of Bounds is taken at the top of the 3-point arc.
ONE coach for each team may be on the court to coach AND referee the game.
